The Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union, invited application from Indian male candidates to General Duty & Technical branches as an Assistant Commandant (Group A, Gazetted Officer) 

Branch AgeEducational Qualification
General Duty (GD)21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2025 i.e. born between 01 Jul 2000 & 30 Jun 2004 (Both dates inclusive).(i) Bachelor’s Degree(ii) Maths & Physics as subjects in Plus Two.
Technical (Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics)21-25 years as on 01 Jul 2025 i.e. born between 01 Jul 2000 & 30 Jun 2004 (Both dates inclusive).(i) Engineering degree in Naval Architecture/ Mechanical/ Marine/ Automotive/ Mechatronics/ Industrial and Production/ Metallurgy/ Design/ Aeronautical/ Aerospace/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Telecommunication/ Instrumentation Instrumentation and Control/ Electronics & Communication/ Power Engineering/ Power Electronics(ii) Maths & Physics as subjects in Plus Two.
  • Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates.
  • Total vacancies: 140 (General Duty – 110, Technical – 30)
  • Exam: Candidates for all branches shall appear in computer based online screening test known as CGCAT. The test comprises of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) carrying 4 marks for each correct answer and 1 negative mark for each incorrect answer. The duration of the test will be of two hours and medium of test paper will be English. 
  • Syllabus: English, Reasoning & Numerical Ability, General Science & Mathematical aptitude & General Knowledge. Each subject carrying 100 marks (25 questions).
